Music

We have a collection of musicians that would be the envy of any church. A group of people keenly meet each Thursday night to learn new songs and to practice old ones. Members of the congregation are cordially invited to be present at these music sessions.

More information - Darren Langerak.

  Coffee, craft and conversation
Friday morning (9am) is a pleasant time for ladies from the community to meet at the church for a time of fellowship and craft activities. A variety of hobbies is enjoyed and instruction is offered to beginners. They hope to establish three or four new crafts during each school term. This is a special group for meeting women in the urban area of Glenvale. Lara Hagedoorn is very much involved.

Session
The Session (or Church Council) is the governing body of the church and is made up of men who serve as elders or deacon. Members of the congregation are allotted to individual elders so that all worshippers have the opportunity of encouragement in their spiritual life. Sometimes the session will call meetings of the congregation on matters of importance. The well-being of the church is very much in the hands of the elders. Input of the people is gained through listening by elders and their operation at council meetings. The Pastor acts as Chairman of the Session. A Board of Management meets regularly to manage the finance and maintenance of the buildings and property. The contact is Leo Baas.

Yearbook
The Church maintains a Year Book to ensure that each family member is well ascribed. This document contains the list of families, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and birthdays. People are urged to keep this information complete as new members attend the church. Each member has a copy.

Friends & Neighbours
Every member of the church is important. New people are invited to join the groups most suited to their need. A special programme is the Friends and Neighbours meetings on Tuesday morning.
It results in a time of board games and other recreational activities. The gathering is begun at 10am and a small period of devotion is held before activities which conclude at midday. Aart Osinga is the person to contact.

Church News
Each Sunday produces a "Church News". Parishioners are provided with a sheet giving details of services, news and activities for the coming week. It provides details of rosters for folk to perform particular duties on that day or later. Items for publication should be sent to the Pastor early in the week.
